Brother Mfc L8850cdw Color Laser All In One Multi Function Printer Clear Vinyl Anti Static Dust Cover Dimensions 19.3”w X 20.7”d X 20.9’h
The Brother MFC-L8850CDW ($599.99), the middle of the three recently introduced color laser MFPs for small office workgroups, is a fast color MFP for its price. It has an impressive array of features, including two-sided scanning from the 50-sheet automatic document feeder (ADF).
The MFC-L8850CDW ($1, $999.99 at Amazon) (opens in new window) can print, copy, scan, and fax. Allows you to send a fax either from a computer (PC Fax) or as a separate device without using a computer; It can also function as a standalone copier. It supports printing from or scanning to a USB flash drive. It can also scan to PC, email, OCR software, FTP server, Microsoft SharePoint and network folders.
Standard paper capacity is 300 sheets, split between a 250-sheet main tray and a 50-sheet multipurpose tray. An optional 500-sheet tray ($249.99) provides a maximum paper capacity of 800 sheets. An automatic two-sided printer for printing on both sides of the paper is included as standard. This paper capacity is relatively small, which makes the printer more suitable for a smaller workgroup or a busy home or small office.

Brother Tn 351 (black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow) Toner Cartridge For Hl L8250cdn, Hl L8350cdw, Hl L9200cdw, Mfc L8850cdw, Mfc L9550cdw
The MFC-L8850CDW has a higher rating and test speed than its little brother, the MFC-L8600CDW ($1, $999.00 at Amazon ) (opens in new window) — one of two MFPs running simultaneously — and higher. maximum monthly duty cycle (60,000 sheets to 40,000 for MFC-L8600CDW). The 50-sheet ADF beats the Brother MFC-L8600CDW’s 35-sheet ADF, which lacks the MFC-L8850CDW’s support for duplex scanning, copying and faxing. Another new model, the Brother MFC-L9950CDW ($799.99), has all the features of the MFC-L8850CDW, but is designed for higher-volume printing, has a maximum duty cycle of 75,000 pages, and can use extra-high-capacity ink cartridges. to reduce operating costs.
At 20.9 by 19.3 by 20.7 inches (HWD), this MFP is too big to share an office with. Since it weighs 67 pounds, you’ll need two people to move it into place. The front rear panel features a 4.8-inch color touchscreen display. On top is a 50-sheet automatic document feeder (ADF) that supports double-sided copying, scanning and faxing of multiple pages of legal-size documents.
The printer is connected to a computer using a USB cable or to a network using Ethernet or Wi-Fi. Supports Wi-Fi Direct, which enables direct printing between compatible devices without using a Wi-Fi access point. It is compatible with Apple AirPrint, Brother iPrint & Scan, Mopria, Google Cloud Print and Cortado WorkPlace for mobile printing. I tested it using an ethernet connection and drivers installed on my windows vista machine.
I set the MFC-L8850CDW’s 32ppm speed for both color and black-and-white printing in our suite of business applications (using QualityLogic timing software (opens in new window)) to 7.6ppm, which is a good clip for its price and nominal speed. (Although the speed estimate is based on printing text only, our test set included text pages, graphics pages, and mixed-content pages.) It was faster than the Brother MFC-8600CDW, rated at 30 ppm, which converted in my test for 6.4 p. , the Editors’ Choice OKI MC362w ($1, $299.00 at Amazon ) (opens in a new window) clocks in at 5.9 ppm. Its speed was significantly slower than the Editors’ Choice C3765dnf color laser printer, which I set at 8.3 ppm in default duplex mode and 10.1 ppm in a single print.

The overall output quality of the MFC-L8850CDW was slightly below average in our tests, mainly due to lower image quality. Text quality was average for a color laser, and graphics are slightly below par. Printer Text is suitable for any commercial use except those requiring very small fonts, such as demanding desktop publishing applications.
With graphics, colors were generally well saturated. Some dark backgrounds looked a little washed out in my tests. The printer did a good job of showing very thin color lines and differentiating similar tones. Several illustrations showed moderate striations (a normal pattern of faint striations). Most of the illustrations had clear gradation (graininess and in some cases bitmap patterns). The graphics quality is good for any indoor commercial use, even PowerPoint flyers.
Image quality is below laser level. In my test shots, there was some loss of detail in some dark areas. Monochrome image showed clear staining. Many prints showed fluctuations in the form of raster patterns. The quality is good for printing images from web pages or files, but that’s about it.
This printer is slightly more expensive than the Brother MFC-L8600CDW, but it offers more: capacity for more printing, faster speed, a larger automatic document feeder, and the ability to scan both sides of a sheet of paper. one pass.
Brother Tn336c / Tn 336c. Cyan Original Toner Cartridge, For Hl L8250cdn, Hl L8350cdwt, Mfc L8850cdw
The MFC-L8850CDW sits roughly halfway between two Editors’ Choice models, the OKI MC362w and Dell C3765dnf color laser printers. It is well below the top Dell C3765dnf in terms of running costs, speed, paper capacity and graphics quality. It has a similar set of MFP features and workflows to the OKI MC362w, and is slightly faster, although it can’t quite match the OKI MFP’s output or paper handling quality. As such, the OKI MC362w remains our Editors’ Choice for mid- to heavy-duty color laser MFPs in small or small offices, but the Brother MFC-L8850CDW is good in its own right and a good choice, especially if speed is a priority. color output is limited to indoor use.
