The STENA NORDICA was introduced as the third vessel along with the STENA SUPERFAST VII and STENA SUPERFAST VIII, when P&O Ferries stopped sailing to Larne-Cairnarian on St. Patrick’s Day and laid off about 800 crew. Up to 9 flights per day have been offered in recent weeks.

Many voyages during Easter are fully reserved for vehicular traffic. This pattern is common on the weekends after P&O ferries are out of service.

It’s unclear whether passengers are boycotting P&O ferries due to layoffs, despite social media bluffs. Passengers are more likely to avoid very limited itineraries and some services may not operate.
