While the camera’s size and weight make it easy to carry around, we found it a bit uncomfortable for long shots. The hard plastic and small grip aren’t ergonomically designed for the average hand, and the limited space makes it all too easy to accidentally trip over the buttons while shooting. This is an important area where Canon is clearly trying to distance itself from the consumer potential of the 350D and that of the semipro EOS 20D.
The 350D viewfinder offers 95 percent coverage, which is typical for its class, and is very clear and precise. The 1.8-inch LCD is also sharp and bright, although it can be difficult to read in open sunlight.

But despite the lack of a kit lens, the image quality is impressive. Colors are generally saturated and natural, although the automatic white balance tends to be warm and yellow in some situations.
