A German bank has filed a debt claim against the 150, 700-gt World Dream (built 2017), the unofficial flagship of Genting’s Dream Cruises targeting Asia.
Dream Cruises announced on Monday that Dream World will cease operations when the ship returns to Singapore at the end of the voyage scheduled to end on March 2.
A statement published on the ship’s website said that increased pressure from creditors is an immediate threat to the ship’s continued existence.
The company said despite receiving emergency funding that allowed Dream World to complete 16 planned flights after the layoffs in January, its liquidity continued to deteriorate.
