As expected, Dr. L had fish and chips. This was a steal at a bargain price. Featuring two fish fillets, plenty of chips and salad, there is no better value for money in town. Unfortunately, the chips and salad came without salt, which is hopefully an omission, but it still made a big difference. Due to how busy the restaurant was, we were unable to flag down a server to fix this. Besides that, the fish and chips were crisp and the salad fresh, which gave him satisfaction.
The Morrison Hotel
My main was the Chicken Parmigiana. It came with deep fried chicken breast topped with napoli sauce and mozzarella. The chicken was crispy, but the batter was fairly thick and fairly dry underneath, and the napoli sauce was dry without adding much moisture. The chips were fairly standard, as was the salad. The value was good, but I’ve definitely had better elsewhere.
Mixed with the drinks, they required a little more physical labor to create, so they took a little longer than expected.
Dr said we also serve chicken or a vehicle as he is very hungry. Said L. Again these were quite thin on the salt and the batter too thick. The side salad was also very enjoyable. Fish and chips are as Aussie as Vegemite, and Moreton Bay Fish and Chips rules are no different. Even locally, people drive further to find the best fish and chip shops we have. We have access to the best seafood on the market, enough to make westerners jealous, and this is because of our local industry. The Moreton Bay region is built on the back of fish, and you can’t help but hunt here for a well-cooked dinner.
