Global Village began operations in 1996 on a small site along the Dubai River. Even then, the idea behind the event was to showcase everything the world has to offer. It was just the beginning, so the site only had small kiosks representing different countries. Despite the lack of fans, the event managed to attract over 500,000 visitors in its first year! Since then this festival has not stopped. By 2004, the event had 38 participating countries and attracted 5.20 million visitors!
Global Village Dubai celebrates 26 years! Global Village Dubai 2021-22 is scheduled to run from October 26, 2021 to April 10, 2022. The event will be bigger and better than ever with brand new pavilions, countless new stalls and lots of surprises!
