A local meal in a taverna for two usually costs between 25 and 40 euros, depending on how much you eat and drink. If you sit in the grill house, you can easily eat souvlaki or gyros for 10 euros per person.

I have a different opinion about the best Greek islands if you’re on a budget. Many people think that smaller, more remote islands are cheaper.

How To Choose The Ideal Greek Island For A Holiday

Although this may be true to some extent, I have found that Greek islands such as Crete and Rhodes provide better value for your money.

Restaurant and accommodation prices are lower than on smaller islands, where there are fewer rooms or towers. Plus, you can get there with a direct international flight, which will save you the extra costs of Greek island ferries.

How much money do you really need if all you do is hang out at the beach all day?

So if you’re looking to save money on your vacation, I’d recommend avoiding the smaller, more remote islands and opting for the bigger islands instead. You get a lot for your money!
