Internal Glass Sliding Doors Sydney – Interior sliding barn doors are my latest obsession, so I thought I’d share some of my favorite looks with you in today’s post.
My Williamstown design project has a bit of an urban industrial vibe and is installing a sliding barn door. I’ll share photos with you when I’m done. But in the meantime, I found some great photos for you from the internet.

Clients love the idea of installing barn doors in powder rooms. It leads to the living and dining room and is very small. The existing doors are bi-folded and lead into the living room, making the already cramped space feel tighter. Therefore, sliding doors are the solution. But why choose the obvious (and somewhat generic) track door when you can choose the barn version or earlier?

Another thing I love about indoor sliding barn doors is the versatility. You can use them in many different design directions. Don’t think they’re just for rustic spaces. As you scroll through this article, you’ll find that rooms look more chic and sophisticated.
It’s hard to get through the black sliding barn door. This is the color I’m going to paint and I’m going to use in my Williamstown project. The walls in the space will be a light grey concrete effect, so the black will create a wonderful contrast.
You’ll notice that the door surfaces are different in the photo above and in the two photos below. One features all wood with interesting shapes. One has three glass panels above the door. The final black beauty showcases the beauty of glass on most surfaces.
Truth be told, Last Black probably wouldn’t be officially classified as a barn door. If so, this is a charming barn that I would like to live in immediately. It makes a great room divider though, don’t you think? Perfect for closing a formal dining room or recreation room, for example, without feeling completely closed.

“Sliding barn doors are more versatile than you might think and work with any home. It all depends on the color and style you’re after, make sure it fits your style. Complements existing interior schemes.”
I know the word “barn door” conjures up rural farming. I’m not going to smash it in any way, which is why I wanted to include some images of interior sliding doors that didn’t feel so industrial.
For example, the one above shows exactly how the idea of a barn door can be turned into something really fun and inspiring. What an interesting house to live in.
Below you’ll notice that the door has been kept in a beautiful gray tone, very quiet, but still a lot of fun there. You really have to look at the existing interior design schemes you have done in your home and decide on the color from there. Also consider whether you want doors to be a focal point or feature in the space, or whether they will be supporters of larger moments like art or lighting.

Further down, you’ll find cozy blue and mud green options, which are my personal favorites. They add a bit of color without overwhelming the space.

Now you just have to decide whether to install the sliding barn door yourself or have someone else do it for you. It all depends on your DIY skill level. Honestly, it’s not as hard as you might think.

Keep in mind that some suppliers will sell you the door separately, and some will sell you the door and the track kit you need to install it. Just a few things to keep in mind so you don’t just order the door and find it blows up when it arrives!
Another thing to keep in mind is the weight of the door. Any door over 80kg will damage your door frame. To avoid this, Bunnings recommends installing a hollow door (it’s lighter).
