Aged Care Facilities In North Shore, Nsw
Windsor Park consists of two homes, one of which provides special care programs for residents with complex care needs. Both houses have large study rooms, quiet rooms, lounges and large shaded gardens with outdoor barbecue.
The Windsor Park Aged Care Home team has won three Commonwealth Best Practice Awards from the Australian Aged Care Quality Agency. This prestigious national award recognizes exceptional innovation in care. The 2018 Better Practice Award recognized a repatriation program that helps Aboriginal care recipients return to regional and desert communities. Working with Indigenous Aboriginal Health Coordinator Wendy Ashwin, the program helped 12 Aboriginal people return to their communities across Western Australia. The program evaluates whether the person can stabilize their health and restore them to a level of fitness and independence that allows them to return home. In 2016, the Home’s culturally appropriate Aboriginal care program was recognized with a Better Practice Award. Built over more than a decade and using evidence-based practice and strong links with key communities and research groups, the initiative is an important part of improving Aboriginal care. In 2013, the Better Practice Award recognized a home workplace alignment program that successfully changed home culture and reduced conflict and tension between employees. By engaging key training organizations to give employees and managers the skills to work together to solve problems, the team was able to retain employees and create a happy environment at home.
