“Many families don’t arrive at the hospital when their child is admitted overnight. It’s comforting that we can provide the bare minimum to make their stay as comfortable as possible.”
Nicole Collins, of St Mary’s, has visited the children’s ward every week since October after her two-year-old daughter Lexi was diagnosed with a rare brain disease.
“The play therapy area in the children’s ward is really important for children, especially when they are in the hospital for a long time like my daughter. Sometimes we stay here for three to four days. It’s a beautiful environment for children. Recover.”
