Honda started pricing the 2016 Fit (released as Jazz in India) for the US market at 15,790 USD (10.02 lakhs INR). The 2016 model has minor changes to trim and specifications, but no drastic improvements to other parameters.

Power comes from a 1.5-liter i-VTEC four-cylinder direct injection engine that generates 130hp and 154Nm of torque. In the base LX trim, the Fit offers a six-speed manual transmission, while the other variant has a CVT gearbox.

Available in six variants, the 2016 Fit retains standard features such as LED taillights, rear spoiler, Bluetooth and a rear view camera. Advanced safety features include side and curtain airbags with rollover sensors, Vehicle Stability Control (VSA), Traction Control, Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) and the Honda Lane Watch system.
The upscale EX-L also uses the HondaLink 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, Smart Entry with push-button start, a moonroof, automatic headlights and alloy wheels.

In a press release, Honda promised at this year’s Los Angeles show that it would unveil its commitment to the expansion of a new hydrogen filling station in California.

The news could come as early as Wednesday, the first Wednesday of the media day, two days before the LA Auto Show opens to the public.
Toyota announced tonight that it will support a network of 16 gas stations in five northeastern states: New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island.
The FCV concept is a facelift from the radical FCEV concept that Honda unveiled a year ago at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show.
The styling of the new FCV concept continues the low and wide sedan look of its predecessor, while adding practical features missing from the previous design concept, such as wheel arches.

The interior follows the company’s theme of “harmony between man and machine,” Honda says, and offers more interior space than a regular FCX.
This is due to the fuel cell stack, which is one-third the energy density 60% higher than the Clarion. The stack’s maximum power output now exceeds 100 kW (134 hp).
Honda says it has a target range of over 300 miles, a full refuel takes 3-5 minutes, and can deliver hydrogen at 10,000 psi (70 MegaPascals or MPa).
The entire powertrain of the FCV fits under the hood of the concept car, which not only allows for more interior space, but also allows the fuel cell package to be used in a variety of vehicle designs.

A Thailand Facebook page dedicated to the new Honda Civic uploaded spy shots of the next-generation model being tested in Thailand. The body under test is a Civic sedan that was released in the US market in October last year and was reserved for the first time in Thailand in November last year.
The pre-made Civic doesn’t hide much with its exterior design as it has a silver wrap on the outside. The tester is equipped with a small rear wing unlike the model sold in the US, which can be an optional accessory at launch. So far, only the rear has been slightly modified and is identical to the Civic in North America.
The engine lineup in the US is a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated VTEC DOHC four-cylinder engine with 158 hp at 6,500 rpm and 187 Nm at 4,200 rpm, and an all-new 1.5-turbo VTEC mill with 174 hp at 5,500 rpm and 220 Nm. Maximum torque is from 1800 rpm up to 5,000 rpm. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual (2.0 variant only) and a CVT gearbox.

For the Indian market, Honda Cars India has not announced plans to relaunch the Civic. However, in 2016, the Japanese automaker plans to resume trading with the Honda BR-V and enter the seven-seater SUV segment. It is important to understand how important the Honda Civic compact sedan is in the US market.
Between the Civic sedan and its siblings, Honda sells more than 300,000 units per year. That’s about 20 times this year’s Chevy Volt.
The Civic nameplate has been around for over 40 years and has been a smart, relatively fuel-efficient entry-level pickup.

But in 2016, Honda started with a clean slate to refresh the acclaimed Civic following the launch of the last-generation in 2012.

(If you order a six-speed manual gearbox and a 2.0-liter base 2016 Civic, the rating drops to 31 mpg. That’s an indication of how much a CVT can actually contribute to fuel economy.)
And that rating is 20 percent lower than the original Toyota Prius’s 41mpg. This indicates that Honda, along with the Mazda, are at the forefront of excellent fuel economy, especially in combustion engines.

Honda hates plug-in cars, but it’s completely competitive between the compact sedan and Civic volume, so the fuel savings are noticeable.
We also commend the company for providing an eco-mode that is not particularly painful to use compared to the slow and sluggish response of other cars’ economic settings.
The larger Accord Hybrid sedan was suspended for a year as production moved to Japan, the plug-in version of that car was canceled after a low sale, and neither the 44mpg Civic Hybrid nor the much lower spec Civic natural gas reappeared.
Honda says it will sell battery-electric and plug-in hybrid versions of this midsize sedan, as well as the 2017 Clarity hydrogen fuel cell vehicle. But for now, these are only hopes.

But the 2016 Civic won’t be a contender for the Best Car Buy award unless it’s much wider than its predecessor.
It’s comfortable, represents good value for money, has better handling and ride quality on the road, and is now a viable alternative to larger, less efficient midsize sedans.
In other words, Honda goes back to its Civic roots, making the Civic not only more gasoline-efficient, but also fun to own.
As we saw on Civic’s first drive in 2016, the seats were improved, the console was particularly good, and basically the Civic was popular again.

And performance? According to the 2016 Civic, 35mpg is excellently achievable in real-world driving.
