Your child’s baby (primary) teeth are important. Although they will be replaced by permanent teeth, it is essential that your child learns how to care for them. And it is essential that they develop the habit of good oral care, and learn to brush their teeth in the morning and at night. We also want to prevent cavities in milk teeth. If they lose their baby teeth prematurely, the teeth can no longer act as space savers, so alignment problems can develop in the permanent teeth.
Regular dental checkups are essential for children to stay free of cavities. Children’s cavities are on the rise, but the situation can be avoided with good habits at home and regular visits.
Give your children the best start! As recommended by the Australian Dental Association, your child should have their first check-up at around 12 months of age or after the first tooth erupts, whichever comes first. Although you may think there is not much to do if your child does not have many teeth, there is still much that can be achieved. For example, we will discuss:

Drinking tea or coffee, red wine, smoking cigarettes, eating colored foods, certain medications, and even some diseases can discolor teeth in ways that can be removed with a professionally assisted whitening system.
Teeth whitening works most of the time, but sometimes you may have tooth discoloration that cannot be improved this way. For example, the following cases cannot be improved with bleaching:

In such cases, your dentist may suggest other methods of cosmetic improvement, such as porcelain veneers or the replacement of existing crowns, veneers or bridges.
Almost anyone with natural teeth can benefit from teeth whitening, as long as their teeth have not been damaged by tetracycline staining or they have particularly sensitive teeth. If your natural teeth have artificial components such as caps, fillings or crowns, they will not whiten and you may need to explore other options, such as porcelain veneers.
As long as you have your dentist’s approval and choose a teeth whitening method recommended by your dentist, teeth whitening is a completely safe option. However, some people have sensitive teeth and therefore need to take a more conservative approach to whitening. In addition, specific toothpaste or mousse may be prescribed to help treat your sensitive teeth during this time.
As long as you bleach or bleach your natural teeth, teeth whitening definitely works. The level of effectiveness (for example, how many shades lighter is achieved) depends on the type of professional bleach used and the percentage solution, but usually two to three shades lighter. Poor or ineffective results only occur when your teeth have artificial components such as fillings, crowns, bridges or dentures.

It took some work to get here, but here we are in full swing and loving the location. To fill you in on the details, we spoke with Amy, our local Leederville receptionist, and Dentistry Plus.
A: I have lived in Leederville for almost three years. I’m only a 10 minute walk from the clinic and I love my new commute!
A: I like having all the amenities I would want living in the city of Perth, but with a much more relaxed community feel.
A: Sure! The job caught my eye for a number of reasons… Of course being a short drive from home is a huge plus, but I had to check a lot of other boxes before I was willing to take a job leaving what I was satisfied with. For me, the people I work with greatly influence my job satisfaction.
Introducing Fair Healthcare Alliance
As soon as I met Lucas and Elley, I knew they were going to be a great team to work with. I also felt the location of the clinic would work very well: close to town but with plenty of street parking available. Also, taking a tour of the new clinic excited me; there is so much space, and I love the interior design!
DP: Since the people of Leederville are so active, the DPlus team decided to open every other Saturday and Sunday. Was there much interest in dental appointments on Sundays?
A: I think opening on a Sunday is a good idea. We are all so busy these days that sometimes going to the dentist during the working week is not an option and many dental clinics are severely limited on weekends. People often have commitments on a Saturday, so providing that extra Sunday option is proven
