When we take the box out of the box, you will see two layers. The interior is mostly gray rubber and has a sand texture.
Your iPad simply slides into the gray rubber, then onto the outermost black plastic layer, enabling dual-layer protection. This is tested by military personnel to survive such accidents and take measurements to protect the internal electronics. The shape of the case also deflects force from dropping the device and prevents the display from touching the screen.
When we turn the case over, we see the stand inside. With force, you open the holder and hold it in place.
The inner rubber layer is open for your Lightning charging port as well as the speakers, but also houses your brain and the lock button. Our biggest concern with this design is the phone connection. Layers of rubber and plastic cover the top of the phone, but from our tests we didn’t notice it affecting our cellular connections.

On top of all this protection, the Voyager comes with Pelican’s limited lifetime warranty, which isn’t easy to explain Pelican’s motto – ‘If you break it, we’ll replace it … more up!’. For all that, you can get it on Amazon for $79.95, which is cheaper than similar cases of similar resistance.

Our only complaint with the Pelikan is the removal of that sharp look with a rubber inner lining. We found that when you’re holding the case, there’s not much to keep it from slipping out of your hands.
