Carved into a hillside, barely visible from the landscape, the shelter uses structure, light and space to present a shelter like no other. In addition to the view of the surrounding environment, it has been described as the most vulnerable habitat in Africa.

REVIEW – Four Seasons SingaporeMarch 28, 2022 GREAT DEAL – Free transfer and half board at the Waldorf Astoria Maldives! April 21, 2022
I never thought safari was for me. The idea of conventional decor – animal print rugs, vintage lamps, etc – I didn’t see the appeal.
Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge, South Africa
Then, in 2019 I visited Silvan Safari, a lodge with completely modern decor, excellent food and amazing animal sightings.
It is clear that there are hotels out there that not only satisfy the taste of modern design, they also offer comfortable game drives, a world away from the crowded and overcrowded cars that are often found in places like the Serengeti. and Masai Mara.
However, the Kruger range has many unique concessions, where all of the above are seen and the resulting game drive experience is truly unique.
It is also completely modern in its design, even though it is 20 years old!

Many tour operators convince people that option 1 is the only way to go. It’s romantic and fun to fly in a proper small plane apparently…
At more than double the price, I don’t see the appeal as limited in terms of comfort and luggage though.
My First Safari At Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve, South Africaaround The World With Justin
The only advantage is that you can finally land at an airport 5 minutes from your accommodation.
By doing so, however, you will miss out on a beautiful drive from the local airport with a possible wild view along the way!
We flew to Skukuza Airport (SZK) with a 45 minute transfer to the accommodation provided free of charge.
Airlink service was excellent, snacks and drinks were provided on this flight in less than an hour.
Sabi Sabi Earth Lodge
Arriving at Skukuza airport we were immediately immersed in the safari experience. The baggage claim area, with hand-delivered items, was amazing!
We were met at the departure hall by Viviane, who would be our safari guide during our stay. She was the first female guide we had and also, in her early twenties, the youngest.
Earth Lodge has long had a reputation for diversity in its staffing practices and during our time at the lodge it shone through.
Viv is wonderful: very knowledgeable, hardworking and very easy to get along with. It really felt like we had a good friend who introduced us, we could laugh and joke and completely relax in his company.
Sabi Sabi Earth Lodge, Sabi Sands
Since we were driven to the lodge in a proper safari vehicle, we were effectively on a game drive.
We saw along the way the usual impala and warthogs, as well as the unusual (and shy).
Skukuza Airport is unique because it is located within the boundaries of the Kruger National Park. After 20 minutes or so, we crossed a checkpoint, exited the national park and entered the boundaries of the private Sabie Game Reserve.
Once we got inside the reserve it wasn’t long before we saw the shelter sign and some giraffes too! We only saw one giraffe during our entire time in Silvan, so it was great to see a few of them before we even settled into our room here!
Sabi Sabi Earth Lodge.
The Lodge has a very cool parking space, which allows you to get in and out without climbing the stairs. Such great attention to detail.
As we walked down the winding hallway to the lobby, the sense of anticipation really began to build.
As we turned the last corner, we were greeted with a wonderful view of this well-maintained, renovated cave. This is how you design a safari lobby. Take everything back and focus all your attention on the wonderful natural environment.
We were greeted by the lodge manager Maryke who offered us a welcome cocktail as we sat down to complete the check-in process.
The Adventure Concierge
Even inside the lobby area we saw several animals: snakes and skinks in the watering hole and some local people swallowing something, on top of the reception desk!
