We were at the potential site for a week in May 2021. The park is quite large and a bit rustic at first glance. We found it very nice. The beaches are just across the road with more beaches, surf clubs and a lovely local water park just down the road. The place is quiet with a boat ramp through the park. When Chantelle arrived at the reception, she offered to let us walk around and choose a site if we wanted. We ended up at the site he had for us and found it excellent. Further aft there are spaces with even more room and are suitable for large RVs. The equipment was good and clean. I love the notice on the rose windows that says “Water our lawn with your water”. Are you listening to CMCA Parks? About the mosquitoes.. we bought some repellent from the office, it’s natural without deet and I have to say it’s the best we’ve come across. It works and is very comfortable. It’s called Sandfly and Mozzie Stuff. www.areas.net.au. We’ve been to places where the bugs will take you if you don’t stop. Did I mention Jacobs Well? Tannum Sands isn’t too bad for bugs, but they’ll get you morning and night if you’re not protected. This article worked for us and we are still using it. We do not own shares in the company! We will return to this park.
Tannum Sands Vacation Rentals & Homes
The park needs a good renovation. Some of the slabs are cracked, the grass next to the slabs needs to be cut and the facilities updated. However, the staff is great and overall the park is a fun place to stay.
It is well parked with clean facilities. Excellent facilities for children and right in front of the beach. Tip: Bring a strong mosquito repellent for the mosquitoes that linger at night.

We spent a week in the electric grass area enclosure and found it very relaxing and peaceful. The park offers a variety of lodging options, including cabins, sites with and without electricity. There is the first area of the park with facilities, tents and flat ground, then there is a large open grassy area with plenty of shade and large trees.
The park has a swimming pool, old fashioned tennis courts and some tricycles that you can rent. We felt the park was good value for what we paid and will return in the future.
Hidden Valley Tourist Park
The best part of the park was definitely the location! There are excellent walking and cycling routes that can take you all over the island and everywhere.
We found some great spots along the river for both swimming and fishing; just remember to bring your bug spray for the evenings as sandflies are annoying.
